Our policy regarding plant construction—Harmony with nature
The plant and the natural environment are often regarded as existing in contradiction with one another.
Maintaining harmony between production and the natural environment is a serious issue that must be considered at the time of plant construction, particularly in Japan, where land is precious and space for plants is limited. KIKUCHI has introduced a variety of measures to effectively utilize limited space and maintain the balance between its plants and the natural environment they inhabit.
Making spaces seem larger than they actually are
To make spaces seem larger than they actually are, the number of tall trees around the entrance of our plants is minimized. Instead of tall trees, trees with light-colored leaves and a light appearance have been planted and a lawn has been laid out to give the entrance a feeling of openness.
Seasonal beauty
Japan is country that experiences four distinct seasons and the Japanese people traditionally enjoy the coming of different flowers and foliage in each of them. At KIKUCHI's plants, cherry blossoms bloom in spring, azaleas make the periphery of the plants colorful in early summer, the leaves of zelkova and Japanese red maple trees turn yellow and red in autumn, and, even after all these leaves fall in winter, evergreen conifers keep the sites looking lush and alive.

Lawn parking lots have been constructed to make the sites greener.
Tree planting
Striving for a greener environment, we undertake tree planting around the plant. Arakashi oaks and shirakashi oaks, which are native to the local areas, have been planted around the sites. Rather than planting grown trees, we intentionally planted young ones as a symbol of determination to grow the company along with the trees.
Symbolic tree
KIKUCHI's symbolic tree is the metasequoia. Metasequoias are said to grow taller than any other tree in the world. To us, the metasequoia represents our firm determination to grow as it does, to become the world's No.1 auto body component manufacturer.
Permeable asphalt
Permeable asphalt is used for roads on the premises of our plants. This lets rainwater return to the soil and minimizes discharge to sewers.
